No, we do not buy wheels, tires or rims from private persons.
Rims are exchanged for various reasons. E.g. when retrofitting or utilizing the design. Of course, rims can also be required for a conversion (if no winter wheel set is available yet). Often, however, the rims also have to be replaced in the event of accident damage to the vehicle or a curb damage to the rim.
We recommend cleaning rims with special cleaners, which are offered in the automotive accessories trade, in order to clean brake residues and dirt.
Wheel bolts are not included.
The indicated DOT number of the tires stands for "Department of Transportation", meaning the date of manufacture and the age of the tire. The four-digit number is printed on the side of the tire. The code includes the week and year of production. The DOT number is therefore an important criteria when buying used and new tires. Example: A tire with DOT 1920 was produced in week 19 in 2020.
With sawtooth formation, there is oblique wear on the tread blocks of the tire. These are usually located on the outside of a tire. The sawtooth formation only has an impact on driving behavior in very few cases. The formation of the sawtooth formation is often triggered by incorrect air pressures in the tires or by incorrect settings of the axle setting values on the vehicle. However, if the tire pressure is corrected, this is neutralized again after a few kilometers.
At high speed on summer roads, winter tires are exposed to a much higher thermal load than summer tires. The treads of the summer tires are provided with a heat-resistant tread compound in order to cope with these extreme demands.
